The content strategy was divided into five editorial themes to which I followed fairly closely including few filler pages:

Each theme is tied together by a central thread: the expressive power of clothing in constructing identity.
I started with heavy research and curation, compiling moodboards, visual references, and theme-based photo collections. This stage helped me define the content tone and overall pacing of the zine.

Come As You Are is a passion-project zine that serves as a visual and philosophical exploration of modern individuality. In an era of algorithmic trends and homogenized digital aesthetics, this describes the beauty of the unconventional, the surreal, and the deeply personal topics that I find compelling.
The zine argues that true authenticity is not found in perfection, but in the "soft rebellion" of embracing one's unique inner world. Through a curated mix of analytical essays and visual deep dives, it examines how fashion and aesthetics become powerful tools for character creation and self-expression, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
I wanted the design to juxtapose itself with pastel-heavy layouts mixed with dreamlike imagery. The typography is intentionally clean (san-serfifs) to ground the more surreal visual elements, which creates a harmonious balance between structure and fantasy
