THINGS THAT INSPIRE ME

My creative endeavors extend beyond a traditional design sense where I find myself arranging flowers meticulously with ikebana practices, perfecting the ideal cake recipes, illustrating character concepts, editing videos seamlessly, and experimenting with fashion styling.

Although these pursuits are unique to themselves, they all commonly teach me the essentials of composition, attention to detail, and intentional choices. Each discipline thrives on their own, but harmoniously expand into deepening my understanding of how form and function intersect. What grounds me most about these practices is their hands-on nature where I can work directly with materials and see tangible results. This physical approach to creating builds a different kind of problem-solving instinct for me. It reminds me that behind every interface and interaction, there are real people seeking genuine experiences that go beyond what appears on their screens.

These songs are my go-tos when I'm doing anything creative. They help me focus and get into the right mindset.

I'm jacqueline, a student at the University of Washington studying Informatics with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction and UX design.

From a young age, I've always been captivated by the idea of creating things that sparked joy and excitement. Whether it was constantly filling my sketchbooks with ideas, experimenting with DIY projects, or diving deep into new hobbies, I was drawn to the process of bringing concepts to life. This curiosity and hands-on approach to creation became the foundation for how I approach problems, always asking 'how can this improve?' and 'how could someone benefit from using this?'

Looking ahead, I am particularly drawn to the power that personalization has on design, where creating systems can be recognized and adapted to fit users' specific needs rather than fitting everyone into a one-size-fits-all experience. I see the future of design specifically through the lens of actively learning from and growing with users and understanding different backgrounds that lead to individual preferences. My goal is to design products that feel genuinely personal while remaining inclusive and accessible to all.
